Last night I got back into Baton Rouge at 5:50 pm and had to bowl at 6:30. I flew from Salt Lake City, Utah and had been in a plane or airport all day. Needless to say I was tired and a little jet lagged. I started the night good but steadily went downhill after that first game. The team was not bowling that well and our team and the other team both had someone establishing so we didn't know who won until the end of the night. After it was all said and done we lost all 7. Quite a different start from the summer league where we went undefeated for the first three weeks. I am going to put the night behind me and move onto a tournament that happens tonight. First place pays $1000 so I am looking to see how I do. I will post the results at the end of the weekend. On top of everything else I have to prepare for hurricane Gustov.
Last night we finished the thirteen week Thursday night summer league. The team ended up taking first we started that way and stayed in first the entire league. I finished last night with my 12th week in a row of 600 or better series and a 212.22 average. I am happy with the league overall, and I had a great time and learned a lot about my mental game. I finished with the second highest average and the second highest scratch series. I was the most improved average considering the first week I established with a 153. Now, it is time to move onto the PBA Experience and the fall version of this league. I know the PBA Experiece will break this streak I have going of 600 or better series. I will keep everyone posted on the fall events.
I have decided to bowl on the PBA Experience League this fall. My bowling center here puts down the pattern of the week on Sunday mornings so I thought I would go and give it a try. I have never bowled on any of the patterns before today and boy was I in for an unpleasant surprise. I bowled nothing over a 168 and my low game was 141. I thought I was a good bowler with a 212 average but I am not nearly as accurate as I thought. I couldn't make myself hit the same board twice and that was what it takes in order to do well. Anyway, I have a few weeks before the fall league starts so I will keep practicing. The way I look at it is that this will only make me a better bowler.
Had my best series to date last night! Eleven weeks in a row with 600 or 700 series. Last night bowled my highest series with a 723. The team has been faultering around me so we lost 41/2 out of 7. We are still in first place but we have position round next week playing the same team we lost to last night. I just hope the team can come through like we did in the first part of the league.
Lost 5 out of 7 points, we are still in first place but only by a few points. Next week we bowl the second place team so the stage is set for the position the week after. I had an average night well, actually two pins below my average.
