Last night was not the best night for me. I started the night really slow and was not able to pick up a spare or hit the pocket. Second game I was able to find a line that worked but was not able to strike. The third game I fell apart again and had a bad game. My partner was not there for the night and we didn't win many points. We were in fourth place in the league but after last night I would think that is going to change.
148-193-148=489 (163 average on the night)
I am going to pick myself up and move on to Thursday night!
If there is one thing that the PBA Experience League has done for me it has caused my fall league to suffer. I have fallen 18 pins in average since I started the PBA league. Last night was no exception. I can't seem to have a consistent night. I am having trouble repeating shots and I know that I can say that is because my confidence is gone. Last night did have a bright spot the last game I started with the front 8 and then threw a ball too slow and left the 3-6 I picked it up and struck first ball in the tenth. Left the 4-6-7 split in the 11th so I finished the game with a 267. To show how bad the rest of the night was I finished with a 588. I am hoping that last game will carry into next week and I can come back to my 212 average where I finished the summer league.
Ok, I am going to start out with the good stuff. I went up to a 172 average last week and bowled over that this week. My partner and I took 23 1/2 out of 36 so, that is a big bonus also. Last week we moved up to 9th from last place and I think we will move up again next week. On to the stuff I am not mad about but just frustrated. The first game I started out ok and then got hot. I threw a four bagger through the ninth and then left the 2-8-10 in the tenth for a 179. Second game started out good and then fell apart for the last half of the game and threw a 148 ouch. Last game had this revelation that I was trying so hard to hit my mark that it was throwing off the rest of my game. I was getting to darn mechanical. I loosened up and started the game with a double and was able to spare my way through to the 7th. I threw a turkey through the 9th and spare struck in the tenth for a 202. I had a 176 average on the night so I am not upset but I just want to do well and that is just not happening like I see it in my mind. I am glad that I realized I just needed to relax so hopefully next week I will finally have three solid games.
Oh, how that shark pattern is a sneaky little beast. This week we had all 16 teams bowling at the same time. That meant that there were 8 people bowling on the same pair of lanes. Last week everyone had a vacancy on their lanes so only 6 people (two person teams). Anyway, the point is the lanes broke down a lot faster. I got off to a rocky start everything I threw was no where near the pocket and then I couldn't pick up a spare. Finally, in the 6th frame I move to a more outside angle playing the ball up the ten board and what do you know I end the game with four in a row. The second game I started the same way could not pick up a spare. In the 6th frame again I am able to hit my mark (what a concept) and again four in a row up to the ninth. Two strikes in the tenth and another good game. The last game on the other hand was not that good. The lanes started to break down fast and I needed to move which I did but a litte later than I should have. Last game had two strikes the whole game and didn't finish as good as the others. As a team my partner and I finished with 271/2 points out of a possible 36 so we were really happy.
187-200-155=542 (180 average on the night, new average for the league 172)
First and foremost let me tell everyone that Hurricane Gustov kicked our butts here in Baton Rouge. I was without power for ten days and there is damage across this state that makes Katrina look like a toddler. So, that being said I had my first night on the PBA Experience league. It was not as big a disaster as Gustov but I was not rolling like a pro. I am not mad at my scores considering it was the first time I have ever bowled on the Shark pattern but I am looking forward to doing better. Started the night off really slow because I was not sure what line to play to the pocket that I could reproduce. Second game was strong and I was thinking there was hope on the night. Last game was middle of the road and was close to my establishing average.
